Air Superfamily of 81 Fonts by Positype

Air, a huge 81-font superfamily.

Font designer Neil Summerour of foundry Positype has created the Air Superfamily in order to make something new combined with lots of familiar details. He wanted to design a huge and diverse sans serif font family that provides countless typographic features and flexibility. The result is ‘Air’, a huge superfamily of 81 fonts in total. The basic shape is based on Aaux Next, a typeface that he has developed years ago. Aaux Next has a mechanical and structured appearance. Neil Summerour wanted to combine this with a more friendly and pleasant style.

The Air Superfamily currently includes nine weights ranging from Thin to Black plus condensed and compressed styles as well as both oblique and italic versions for each font. All italics are designed with a slope of 7 degree, while the oblique versions are designed in 12 degree.

The font family is meant to be a perfect choice for both web and print. You can use this functional, professional, and highly legible superfamily for a wide variety of typographic projects. Air’s thin and bold versions are great for tall headlines, while the regular weights work great for the use in long and small texts. Ever single font of this superfamily comes with more than 900 characters including ligatures, discretionary ligatures, stylistic alternates, fractions, proportional/tabular lining and proportional/tabular oldstyle figures, numerators, denominators, ordinals, superiors, inferiors, small caps, case-sensitive functionality and support for multiple languages.
