Galano Grotesque, a geometric type family designed by René Bieder for everyday usage.
German font designer Rene Bieder has created the Galano Grotesque type family in 2014. It’s a geometric sans serif font intended for everyday usage. The typeface is in the tradition of fonts such as Futura, Avant Garde, Avenir, etc. Galano Grotesque is based on a modern and well balanced design. The result is a legible typeface that can be used for both striking headlines as well as long and small text. The whole family comprises 10 weights (ranging from Thin to Black) plus matching italics for every single weight. Furthermore, Galano Grotesque is equipped with lots of useful OpenType features such as alternative glyphs, fractions, arrows, ligatures, etc. The extended character set supports Central, Western and Eastern European languages. This family also includes a complete subfamily, Galano Grotesque Alt. It works as stylistic companion to the basic family. Besides the alternative glyphs of this subfamily, the height of descender and ascender was increased in order to provide a unique structure and rhythm. In addition, Galano Grotesque includes two free demo versions.
