The Laski Slab font family, a comprehensive suite of 20 fonts for editorial purposes.
With the support of Ramiro Espinoza, type designer and art director Paula Mastrangelo has created the Laski Slab font family for foundry Re-Type in 2013/2014. It’s a comprehensive suite of 20 fonts intended for editorial purposes.
Laski Slab combines the robustness of the slab serif genre with a humanistic construction and subtle calligraphic details. The result is a typeface with a unique and friendly look. Its round, open letters and the generous horizontal proportions ensure great legibility. The regular weights are a perfect choice for ext sizes, while the thinner or bolder versions offer a striking effect in headlines or subheadings. In addtion, the family also includes two idiosyncratic stencil styles. The diverse OpenType features make it a font family for highest professionelle requirements. The extensive character set is equipped with typographic features such as small caps, fractions, five sets of numerals, alternate characters, and case-sensitive forms. The Laski Slab font family supports multiple languages including all common Central European, Baltic, and Turkish languages. In 2014, the typeface was awarded with the “Certificate of Excellence” at the Tipos Latinos Biennale.
