The Neue Haas Unica™ from Linotype, a sturdy sans serif font family designed by Toshi Omagari.
Type designer Toshi Omagari of studio Monotype has completed the Neue Haas Unica™ font family for foundry Linotype in 2015. It’s an extended, reimagined version of the Haas Unica® typeface, which was often used as an alternative font to the Helvetica®. Haas Unica® was first published in 1980 by the Haas Type Foundry for phototypesetting technologies. This font family had never received an update that fits for today’s digital environments – until now!
Toshi Omagari has given this classic sans serif typeface a fresh, digital facelift. He extended the family with more weights and more letters that support multiple languages and meet today’s needs for both digital and print applications. Linotype’s Neue Haas Unica™ font family now comprises 9 weights ranging from Ultralight to Extra Black plus matching Italics for each weight.
