Linotype Zapfino font family, a calligraphy script typeface by Hermann Zapf.
Hermann Zapf originally started to work on this fully calligraphic typeface in 1993 with technical support by David Siegel and Gino Lee. Font foundry Linotype completed this typeface with initial PostScript and TrueType versions as a family of 6 styles. Today’s Apple Advanced Typography (AAT) and Open Type versions were developed by a team of Tiro Typeworks for the Linotype Library.
This new version has been equipped with lots of features to meet current typographic needs. Linotype Zapfino includes 4 basic alphabets with diverse stylistic alternates. In addition, it comes with diacritic characters for most Latin languages of Central and Eastern Europe as well as Baltic countries and Turkey. The Linotype Zapfino font family is available as both desktop font and webfont. In addition to the basic styles, the family also includes a great set of ligatures and ornaments. Linotype Zapfino is a good choice for any festive typography that requires a calligraphic script typeface. To get additional tips on its use, just follow the link below.
