A great collection of best fonts from 2015!
Over the half of 2015 is already done. It’s time to look back to show you the best fonts of 2015. All fonts in the list below have been designed or at least published in 2015. In order to make it more clear, I have divided the list into five categories consisting of ‘Sans’, ‘Serif’, ‘Script’, ‘Hand-Drawn’, and ‘Specials’.
I plan to continue this collection of best fonts from 2015 until the end of the year. Of course the choice is based on my personal taste and what I found out on the Internet. The sans serif typefaces are slightly in the majority that is probably also due to my personal taste.
Here it is, my ‘Best Fonts 2015′ selection!
Best sans fonts of 2015:
Touche is a new release by the renowned Indian Type Foundry. The typeface is based on a sturdy design. Its 5 weights ranging from Light to Bold. Type designer Jonny Pinhorn has created this family for the use as display font, whether print media or on screen.

Diodrum, another typeface from Indian Type Foundry and another nominee in our best fonts 2015 collection. This 6 styles sans family offers a friendly and modern look. You can use it for corporate design projects, websites or mobile app interfaces. Diodrum’s typeface is characterized by smooth curved lines.

Bambino New is a geometric sans created by Serbian type designer Milos Mitrovic of studio Mindburger. It’s actually an improved version of an earlier release. Bambino New is equipped with 14 fonts consisting of 7 weights plus matching Italics. It provides improved readability and a more unique personality.

With 18 versatile styles, Trasandina is a font family for multi-purpose. The typeface has been created by Fernando Díaz, a type designer from Uruguay and co-founder of foundry TipoType. Trasandina supports over 200 languages and is equipped with numerous OpenType features.

This is Chronica Pro, a release from studio Mostardesign. It’s a family for highly professional use. Designer Olivier Gourvat has created this modern sans serif with great attention to detail and versatility. This legible typeface is a good choice for editorial design, branding, graphic projects, signage, apps, web sites, ebooks, and much more.

Solitas is a distinctive sans-serif with round edges. Designer Jeremy Dooley of foundry insigne has created this family of 42 styles. It includes lots of typographic options such as fractions, ligatures, alternate unicase, upright italics, and titling caps.

TT Chocolates is the name of a 10 fonts type family created by Ivan Gladkikh of foundry TypeType. It’s a geometric grotesque optimized for websites and mobile applications as well as print products.

Nevo is a sans serif with a very unique touch. Stew Deane, a United Kingdom based type designer has created this font family for anything from advertising and branding to web and screen design.

Delm is a font family by type designer Chatnarong Jingsuphatada of foundry Typesketchbook. It’s is a sans with soft, round edges and a geometric structure. This legible typeface is a great fit for multiple applications.

TT Bluescreens by designer Ivan Gladkikh of foundry TypeType is a family of 30 fonts including 2 free versions. It’s a sans serif display font with a narrow look. It is intended for the use in movie titles, credits, and quotes.

Best serif fonts of 2015:
Brenta is a crisp serif family designed by Ludwig Übele. Its typeface is characterized by open counters and well balanced proportions. The German graphic and type designer has equipped this classic serif family with plenty of OpenType features and a set of alternate stencil characters.

Due to its special design, this typeface would also be something for the ‘Specials’ section. Kazimir‘s design is a new interpretation of Russian book and magazine typography known from late 19th and early 20th century. The family comes with different styles, each consists of five weights ranging from Light to Black.

Decour is an elegant slab serif font family from Latinotype. Its type design is characterized by a low contrast between thick and thin strokes as well as a touch of Art Deco. The family comes with 28 styles including italics and condensed versions.

Best script fonts of 2015:
Buenos Aires, Argentina based designer Maximiliano Sproviero of foundry Lián Types has created the Indie fonts, a collection of brush script fonts with additional layering options. All styles can be combined very easily.

Hollie Script Pro is a very decorative display typeface designed by Felipe Calderón of foundry Estudio Calderón. Its design refers to brush traces seen in good old sign lettering.

Sant’Elia Script is a family with a super stylish vintage look. Type designer Ryan Martinson of the Yellow Design Studio has developed this beautiful script type family that comprises six weights as well as oldstyle numerals, 3 texture options, subtle ligatures, alternate forms and stems. With Sant’Elia Script, Yellow Design Studio has published a very versatile and distinctive type family that should not be missed in this selection of best fonts from 2015.

The Model font family has been created by Buenos Aires based type designer Maximiliano Sproviero. Its typeface draws inspiration from calligraphic letters and the world of fashion. This calligraphic script font is a great choice for magazines, festive invitations, posters, book covers, etc.

Goodlife is a lovely hand drawn lettering collection designed by Hannes von Döhren. These letters were made with brush and ink. With this collection you can create letterings in a naturally hand drawn look.

Specials, a selection of special variants that blow any category:
Because of its diverse styles and textures, I had to list the Intro Rust fonts under the ‘Specials’ section. Fontfabric’s Intro Rust collection is packed with incredible 214 fonts – all designed in a rough, vintage inspired style. Due to this vast scope of fonts and styles, Intro Rust belongs to this ‘best fonts 2015′ collection!

Sure, Aldo Pro could also be described as a sans serif, but its unique design makes it very special. Luxembourg based art director, typographer, and graphic designer, Sacha Rein has expanded the free Aldo semi-bold typeface (known from dafont.com) into a full type family of 8 weights.
